      <image:caption>MINDFULNESS : Watching the flicker of a flame, sitting quietly in appreciation, or practicing a guided meditation, etc. are just some examples of the practice of mindfulness. Mindfulness creates new pathways in the brain, some which tap into the oxytocin and dopamine pathways, creating more joy in one’s life, and others which cause a relaxation response. Many physiological changes take place with mindfulness, which promote health and well-being, counteracting the constant stress response. This daily practice, can train the body to have more ease, acceptance and gratitude in what happens. NURSING : Let’s face it, the demands of the job of a nurse are incredibly challenging. Understanding the latest science and research of various modalities of self-care and mindfulness is powerful is the desire to make a new change. We demonstrate and practice a new technique of self-care as a means to decrease our stress. Additionally, individuals’ observe an improvement in their ability to focus as they can struggle with the ever changing patients’ conditions and thus the ever-changing plan of care.</image:caption>
